The El Monte City School District purchased COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests for all students and staff throughout the District to help ensure safe return to school on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. The District is officially on Winter Break and hopes the tests will ease any worries about health and safety when school resumes. Click headline for more info.
CA State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond visited Rio Hondo School in El Monte City School District on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Superintendent Thurmond's purpose of the visit was to observe the school and District's Nutrition Services program as well as the school's day-to-day operations. Mr. Thurmond has been a major advocate for Universal Student Meals and wanted to see firsthand how Districts are tackling meal service, especially during the pandemic. Mr. Thurmond held media availability after his visit outside Rio Hondo School.
