Big Sing kicks off performance season for EMCSD

Choir students from all 14 El Monte City School District (EMCSD) schools performed an array of songs in front of a packed Durfee Gymnasium, signalling the start of EMCSD’s award-winning musical performance season. A rainy day proved no barrier for El Monte City School District’s Superintendent Student Advisory group from voicing their concerns and appraisals about the student experience at EMCSD schools. EMCSD Opens New Early Learning Center

El Monte City School District (EMCSD) celebrated the opening of their new Early Childhood Learning Center at Cortada School. As part of a series of renovations and upgrades across the district, EMCSD held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and invited the community to tour the new Head Start space before students officially entered their classrooms. More Nutrition Education Coming to EMCSD Schools

El Monte City School District (EMCSD) expands its Fresh Fruits & Vegetables programs to seven schools, providing additional nutrition education opportunities to more students across the district. This is all possible through a grant EMCSD received as part of the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) national Fresh Fruit and Vegetables program. Read full story!

Come out to the Jeff Seymour Family Center for a Clothes Swap on Thursday, September 18th and Friday, September 19th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to participate in our free clothes swap!

You do not need to bring clothes to participate. IF you do decide to donate, please only donate up to 10 lightly used items. No underwear or socks (unless new). Thank you!
