Thank you again for supporting our district and voting to support Measure ME in the November 2024 election! El Monte City School District’s Board of Education is seeking qualified, interested individuals to serve on our independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee to oversee the implementation of Measure ME and some previous facilities bonds.
 
Measure ME
On November 5, 2024, voters residing within El Monte City School District passed Measure ME. Measure ME is a school facilities bond that aims to upgrade neighborhood elementary schools by modernizing classrooms, expanding outdoor learning and green spaces, improving performing arts facilities, repairing school structures, and enhancing school safety. The bond authorizes $105 million of future facilities improvements.

Committee Responsibilities
In accordance with Education Code Section 15278(b), the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee shall: 
  • Inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of Measure ME and some past bonds;
  • Review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that Measure ME and past bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes outlined in Measure ME and subsequent bonds, respectively; and
  • Present to the Board in public session, an annual written report outlining their activities and conclusions regarding the expenditure of Measure ME and past bonds.
 
Time Commitment and Term
Committee Members will meet approximately three (3) times a year to review expenditures and oversee deliverables
