This year, EMCSD has provided 10 locations as Voting Centers for the LA County Registrar-Record/County Clerk. Each location is available for early voting starting Friday, October 30. The Nutrition Services Department has added two more days worth of meals to their meal kit program. All children 18 years & under are eligible for seven days worth of meals.
The Census count – for which only days remain – helps to determine funding for community services such as schools and hospitals.
The families of some 550 students at Shirpser School received backpacks, school supplies, new clothes, a teddy bear and, for those who needed them, baby wipes and diapers.
A grant from the Panda Cares Foundation will fund Leader in Me student materials, including student workbooks and teacher guides, as well as a coach whose focus will be tailored to each school’s needs.
