EMCSD Libraries OPEN for Summer School 2022

Want to keep your children engaged and reading during the summer? Then visit one of our school libraries and get access to books and fun craft activities! 

 

The El Monte City School District is opening all their school libraries during summer school for every EMCSD student to access. The goal is to give students more access to books and keep them engaged and learning during their summer break. 

 

EMCSD school libraries will remain open until the end of in-person summer school which ends on July 8, 2022. Until then, students are welcome to come to libraries to read, checkout books, and hang out with their peers. EMCSD students DO NOT need to be enrolled in summer school to access our libraries! All books must be returned by Friday, July 8, 2022 at the school library you originally checked the book from.

 

At some schools, like Columbia, Durfee, New Lexington, Potrero, and Shirpser Schools, students who are not enrolled in summer school can even get free lunch as they visit the library. These five schools are part of EMCSD’s summer meal program, which is providing free meals to any child age 18 and under.Columbia, Durfee, New Lexington, Potrero, and Shirpser Schools are open to children for lunch Monday through Friday between 11:00am to 11:45am. Students do not have to attend an EMCSD school to receive a meal from one of these five schools, but children must be present and eat on campus during the allotted time.
